Home Remedies For Constipation

Constipation can be brought on by many things such as stress, pregnancy, hormones, certain foods, and medications. It can be difficult to deal with especially when stools become hard and difficult to pass. Constipation should be dealt with right away to prevent other health problems from developing. Some people can also become constipated due not drinking enough fluids. If constipation is severe and home remedies are not working seek medical attention right away.
Diet and lifestyle changes
First start off by reducing your intake of refined foods, sugars, animals products, dairy, caffeine, alcohol, soda and salt.
Drink water! You need to drink half your body weight in ounces each day. If you weigh 200 pounds you need at least 100 ounces of purified water each day. Don't drink water all at once, but rather gradually during the day.
Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet along with whole grains and lean proteins. Add fiber to your diet, but do it very slowly and gradually increasing the amount. If you add fiber without drinking enough water you can actually become more constipated. The two work together so be sure to drink plenty of water. Juicing can also help if you have a hard time drinking the required amount of water.
