Natural Remedies For Sun Burns

Sun burns can be quite painful especially for small children. The summer months are a wonderful to time to spend with family however this time of the year can be very harsh on our skin without proper protection. Sometimes prevention is the best medicine and sun burns can be prevented all together and they really should be because with each sun burn you damage your skin causing it to age much faster. It is especially important to protect babies and small children from the harsh sun. The sun can be the harshest in the middle of the day between 10:00 noon and 2:00 pm. If possible avoid the sun during these hours or really protect yourself with extra sun screen and clothing such as hats. Invest in a good organic sun screen or a natural product such as UV naturals. You can protect your skin from the sun without putting a harsh chemical sun screen on your skin. Even if you don’t spend much time in the sun you should still protect your skin year round with a sun screen. You can still be exposed to ultraviolet rays on a cloudy day. Apply sun screen at least 30 min before going out. Take care of your skin. It is the largest organ on your body and it’s a living breathing tissue which can absorb what ever it comes in contact with.

First degree sunburns can be treated with home remedies. In some cases these mild sunburns may cause a slight fever and burning reddening of the skin. If the sunburn is  a second degree sun burn it will cause extreme reddening of the skin along with blisters and may take longer to heal. Third degree sunburns are the most serious because they can cause damage to the lower cells and release fluid. The skin may break and become more prone to infection. Third degree sun burns need to be treated by a doctor.
